assigned to the Royal Field Artillery (Gunner) but later transferred to the Surrey Regiment. On 20 December 1917 he was on the War Office Weekly Casualty List No. 5447 Part 4, Ser. No. 23337, East Sussey Regiment, home place Lopham. He was on the 1918 Absent Voters List for South Lopham at Lang Fen Farm - similarly listed in 1919, so presumable still in the military at that time. |
